A big model update!

I finally finished some more models! With August fast approaching, i have dug deep to get my 'core' 30 marines finished. I now have 10 Tactical, 10 Assault and 10 Devastator guys completed who will form the backbone of my army. 

Claw Leader Krell Azos bears the red hands of shame. A mark of the condemned whose life is forfeit when the Primarch decides.

To back these guys up, i've finished my Centurion Moritat, armed with trusty matched plasma pistols, and a pair of Rapier platforms to provide some serious anti-Land Raider punch to the force. 

 Next up is some Skyhunter Jetbikes and a Centurion mounted the same to give me some speed and mobile anti-infantry firepower!

So, its been a tough ride these last couple of months with painting various armies for other events. I have however managed to finish my pair of Legion Apothecaries. Apologies for the shonky pictures, but this was an on-the-fly post! 

Next up is a Legion assault squad, a snapshot of the first 5 Legionnaires is below!

With the announcement of the first in a series of Horus Heresy events at Warhammer World, and with my doubles army out of the way i'm fully intending to get this blog back on track and get the Sons of the sunless world ready to crush some Loyalists at the end of August!

We are the night...

Ok, little late with the update, but due to 2 weeks out of the country i had a little bit of catching up to do.

So, firstly, Captain Zar Thane is now 99% complete. I want to give him a nice shiny effect on his Paragon Axe, but i haven't had much practice with painting this effect, so i want to try it out a bit before committing it to my Legion Praetor!

For next months project, i shall be adding a little resilience to the force in the form of a pair of Legion Apothecarys. One has been equipped with an augury scanner because they kick ass when he's with his buddies in my upcoming 20 man Tactical squad!

I know its a bit late but better late than never as they say. I have to add some detail on the Lexilla and some transfers when they arrive but all in all they are in a 99% finished state. If you guys have any ideas what I could put on the Lexilla in terms of names they would be most welcome.

End of month 1! Tactical Squad Ankaran ready to deploy

So children, we come to it now, the end of month 1! My first troops choice, a Legion Tactical Squad, designated as Tactical squad Ankaran, Third Claw of the 7th Company, VIII Legio Astartes. They say a picture paints a thousand words, so i've got enough pictures for a short novel...

I think ive got the colour scheme nailed down now. I particularly enjoyed painting the lightning bolts on the armour plates. The astute among you might notice that the Legion symbol has not yet been added, but that shoulder pad is currently just blu-tacked in place for appearance until Forge World inevitably release some awesome sculpted shoulder pads. The skin on the sergeants face isn't as smooth as i would have liked, but again, i'll put it down to experience and this will improve over time.

Third claw, almost complete!

As we draw into the final few days of month one, i've *almost* finished my Tactical Squad and Rhino. So without further ado, heres some lovely pictures (I still havent got the hang of taking decent pictures yet, especially of models which are predominantly a dark colour). Just a few details and a bit of weathering to go!
